My letter to President Koeppel
Good morning Pres. Koeppel,
At the Owensboro show this weekend, I had the opportunity to talk to several PRTAA member breeders and the subject of educational material came up. Several people asked about the club approved JE/BE CD? I had to explain that I was directed not to sell them and that I had been instructed to send them all to you. Are they still sitting somewhere? Are they available for sale? New puppy buyers could benefit from the information, it would be a shame to let those CDs sit in a box. I know that they are not being used for any JE seminars and presentations, but they still could provide some income for the club.

JE Committee this year and last has voted to use the Fanciers CD, so the club approved material is just sitting in a box gathering dust. At one point I had a box of them available for sale, with proceeds going to the club, but I was ordered to return all of them to Gary Koeppel (or Debra? I forget). So for the past 18 months, not one of them has been used for club functions, mentoring, seminars, or education of the public. Couldn't the club use these as education material for someone???
I am just asking?

I don't think the BOD has to ask the membership on that and the BOD can give permission to use anything, bet it PRTAA owner/approved material or not. There are two logical solutions I can see--
1. If the current JE committee does not care for the PRTAA CD, correct it.
2. If the current JE committee likes The Fanciers CD, get it donated and owned by the club. I suggested that earlier this year, but Suzanne Tolleson wants control over the content (present and future) of the Fanciers CD. So, it is a hurdle.
The Committee stated as its #1 goal to make sure material used by all presenters is the same, so this year and last, that would be The Fanciers CD.

I would say pick one, and if it is The Fanciers CD, GIVE it to the club with no strings attached. If it is to be used by the club Breed Mentors, it should be property of the club.

Got an answer on the CDs. Gary Koeppel has them and NO they are not for sale. Why? Because I have no idea. This comes directly from Pres. Koeppel. So, Rita, don't bother to ask.

To add, I will ask our club Secretary to put this request on the agenda for August. Seems to me that since the members paid for this CD, they ought to be able to purchase some to bolster the club treasury.

Oops...Gary said it was decided to keep all club property in one location. But wait, I was directed to send the MCKC 2008 shirts and stuff to Kathleen, so that can't the reason....
