Nice movement shots, Ida. Thanks for sharing.

As for how dogs look when they are moved correctly, I can tell you there is a huge, big difference in the way Murphy looked when he was strung up and moved too fast and the way he looks now, moved on a loose lead and at a proper gait. Nooo comparison.

Linda we have people over here that RUN round the ring with their dogs. Its darned anoying sometimes as they almost lap you.
Titi has a very even trot and hardly ever breaks stride but she does need room to move. If I get in a big class with ones that dont move I'm stumped, but I dont run ever.( I cant) LOL

I showed horses in hand for many yrs. You have to be able to move out without restricting your horse, but not let him get strung out. Same with dogs. That is why is takes practice to know how to SHOW your animal and the gait which is best. Black Jack has a huge stride and I will pass someone in a heartbeat if necessary. It is allowed in the JRTCA...no clue about AKC. I will go deeper in the corners to give myself room, however.

What most of us do in the AKC, at least the polite ones Wink , is give the dog ahead of us plenty of room before we move out. And if the dog behind us has a polite handler, he/she will do the same.
